Man shot to death during dispute at large house party in North Harris County
A birthday party for a teen ended in gunfire and the death of a man during a fight over uninvited guests early Saturday in north Harris County, according to authorities.
77彩票网appDeputies responded to reports of a shooting around 2:30 a.m. at a home near the 200 block of Holtman Drive.
Authorities say that a fight erupted between several guests and at least one person who crashed the celebration. One man, believed to be in his 40s, pulled out a knife and another brandished a gun. The gun-toting man opened fire on the man with the blade, striking him repeatedly. He died at the party.
“At some point, there was a fight between several people at the party. And that fight led to a shooting,” said Sgt. Gregory Pinkins, of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The 22-year-old man believed responsible for the shooting remained at the party and was questioned by police.
The man who was shot was not a family member, police said. He may have come to the party from the Conroe area.
77彩票网appSheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Saturday afternoon that the case would be referred to a grand jury.
