Pearland band hits musical high in Rose Parade performance
Pearland High School’s marching band is basking in the memories of the once-in-a-lifetime experience of performing before hundreds of thousands of spectators and a television audience of millions on New Year’s Day at the the 131st Rose Parade.
The band put its best foot forward as it passed huge crowds of spectators who had begun lining the 5.5-mile route the day before the event, many camping on sidewalks and braving overnight temperatures in the 40s.
77彩票网appAs part of the entourage of “The Pride of Pearland,” about 400 people from the city had traveled to Pasadena, California to witness the teens’ performance in the Rose Parade’s Bandfest.
77彩票网appBack home, scores of supporters took to 77彩票网app to express pride after watching the band on television. “Gave me chills,” wrote Debbie Enriquez Kilgore on a Pearland
“It made me emotional so proud of you all,” wrote Julie Tinkey Aiken.
77彩票网appThe talented hometown high school group shared photos from their time in Pasadena, including a stop at the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Anaheim, Calif.
The annual extravaganza in Pasadena, California featured dozens of floats decked out with countless flowers and waving celebrities.
The theme of the 2020 parade was “The Power of Hope.” The grand marshals were actresses Rita Moreno and Gina Torres and Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez.
