Retro-swanky Bowlero Stafford debuts $1 million renovated bowling and entertainment venue
77彩票网appOffering up another lucky strike for the Stafford entertainment scene, the former AMF Bowling Lanes recently reopened as Bowlero Stafford following a $1 million renovation makeover to its 30 upgraded lanes for blacklight bowling showcased by a wall of high-definition video screens for guests to enjoy sports, music videos and family-friendly movies. The new interior features a retro-hipster “Mad Men” aesthetic, only everything is new and playfully inviting.
“This is not the old smoke-filled bowling center many people remember from years ago,” general manager Anthony Garwatoski said while leading guests on a tour of the bowling center. Since the grand re-opening last November, business has been booming at Bowlero Stafford, he said.
77彩票网app“I think the things that makes blowing popular and run is that it’s a sport that anyone can do whether they’re young or older or athletic or not, anyone can participate and have fun no matter their skill level. It’s a family-friendly outing and kids seem to get a kick out of our new arcade,” he said.
Bowlero Stafford’s arcade is outfitted with dazzling array of games such as World’s Largest Pac-Man, Space Invaders, halo, NBA Hoops, air hockey and a massive stuffed animal Crain-machine game.
77彩票网appFor adults, the new Bowlero Stafford boasts a hip vintage-style bar and longue area featuring creative bar offerings such as a shareable 132-ounce dunk-tank cocktail served in a fish-bowl-sized container, a 100-ounce beer tower, tasty original and traditional cocktails and a large selection of craft and locally-brewed beer. In addition, a new food-truck-style menu offers guests shareable food-items like a two-foot-long hot dog, shrimp poppers, chicken wings, veggie spring rolls, an extra-large pretzel able to feed four people, loaded fried, sandwiches, Baja- fish tacos, fajitas, hamburgers, salads, and gourmet pizza.
Brothers Ken and David Brooks from Sugar Land have bowled countless games together at the Stafford bowling venue since it originally opened over 40 years ago.
“The new interior looks great. You can tell they put a lot of work into the renovations,” David Brooks said during a recent Sunday afternoon visit. “We haven’t tried anything from the new food menu yet but so far everything I’ve seen come out of the kitchen looks delicious.”
77彩票网appKen Brooks said he was also impressed by the new renovations and upgrades.
77彩票网app“It is definitely a lot better than it used to be,” He said. “They changed the layout too and that’s made things go more smoothly in terms of people blocking each other trying to pick out a bowling ball and getting situated. I think it’s a great thing for Stafford. We both live just around the corner in Sugar Land and will definitely be bowling here whenever we have time.”
Located at 4919 S. Main St., the renovated and re-branded 32-lane bowling venue is one of three new Bowlero bowling alleys to open in the Houston area with the other two now open for business in Webster and Willowbrook. Company officials say all three involved multi-million renovations of former AMF bowling centers.
