A man accused of helping hold up a Sprint store in Montrose was captured Thursday after a pursuit into Houston’s Third Ward.

77彩票网appA trio allegedly robbed the store just before 3 p.m. in the 2000 block of Westheimer, near Shepherd Drive, according to Houston Police Department Lt. Larry Crowson. Officers quickly caught up with the three as they drove away in a silver sedan, Crowson said.

77彩票网appOfficers followed the car and attempted to pull it over in Houston’s Midtown, but the driver allegedly refused to stop. He led officers on a 20-minute chase into Third Ward, where he and the two other suspected robbers stopped and fled on foot, Crowson said.

Houston police officers, with the help of an observant K9 from the Harris County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, quickly found the driver hiding behind an abandoned house. His identity was not immediately released.

77彩票网appOfficers searching the car pulled out at least one handgun and nearly a dozen iPhones and iPads allegedly stolen in the robbery.

77彩票网appAs of 6:30 p.m., officers had not located the other two suspects, Crowson said.
