The Astros have a new general manager.

77彩票网appJames Click, a 14-year member of the Tampa Bay Rays organization, will succeed Jeff Luhnow, owner Jim Crane announced Monday.

77彩票网appClick was most recently the Rays' vice president of baseball operations. The 42-year-old Yale graduate was a Baseball Prospectus writer before joining the Rays' front office in 2006.

77彩票网app"I am excited to join the Astros family," said Click, who will be formally introduced by the Astros at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. "The Astros are a progressive and innovative organization with a deeply talented group in the front office. I am grateful to Jim Crane and the Astros for giving me this opportunity to help lead this team to more championships."

Said Crane: "James has had an impressive career. He is a respected leader who has progressed in the game across all aspects of baseball operations, and he has built great relationships with both front office and clubhouse personnel."

Last month, Crane fired Luhnow and manager A.J. Hinch for their failure to prevent the Astros from stealing signs electronically during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Dusty Baker was introduced as Hinch's replacement last Wednesday.
